Activities while staying at Sandcastle Condominiums in Indian Shores, Florida

Updated: Aug 8

Coming to stay at a beachfront condominium in Indian Shores Florida can be a very exciting time. Indian Shores is located halfway down the coast of Florida on the Gulf of Mexico side. Indian Shores has beautiful, pristine white sand along with many restaurants and things to do. Depending on how you want to spend your vacation I will talk about all of the options Indian Shores has to offer.

My wife and I own four, direct ocean front condominiums with three bedrooms and two bathrooms that are located in Indian Shores, Florida. Our condominiums are seven day rentals and come fully equipped and stocked with all bedding, kitchen utensils etc. Our places are located on a barrier island so you can get sceneries of both direct ocean front and intercoastal waterway views. The restaurant, Caddies Pub, is located directly across the street and has both indoor and outdoor seating. It offers a brand new outside bar along with a full menu. One mile down the road in Indiana Shores is the famous Salt Rock Grill. It is famous for its outdoor seating, steaks, seafood, and pastas. Early bird specials are the way to go when visiting.

Right across the street from the Sandcastle Condominiums is Island Beach Rentals where you can rent an array of boats, scooters and jet ski's. They also offer kayak tours along with bicycle rentals. Five miles south offers the famous John's Pass which is located in Madeira Beach Florida. John's Pass offers a variety of activities for all walks of life. If you are being adventurous, you can rent jet ski's, go parasailing, or go deep-sea fishing. You can also go on a sightseeing tour on the intercoastal.

This particular tour offers a close view of how some of Florida's rich and famous live. If you are into dolphin and manatee watching they offer great tours for upfront close encounters. I personally think the best cruise they offer is the pirate ship cruise for kids where real life pirates show their skills. If you are into shopping, John's Pass is where it is. It offers over 100 stores to choose from. All of them have their own unique vibe. They have a small alligator and reptile petting zoo. They also offer many restaurants with a variety of American food and plenty of places to eat right on the water. Let's not forget the several ice cream and candy shops located there.

The great thing about staying in the Sandcastles is that you can pick up a city bus that can take you from Clearwater Beach to Saint Petersburg. If you are into visiting museums, Indian Shores has plenty close by. For example, the Dali Museum of the great artist Salvador Dali is located in downtown St. Petersburg, which is only about a 20 minute drive. If you are into theme parks, Busch Gardens is located about 40 minutes north of Indian Shores. Busch Gardens is well known for its roller coasters and large palm trees covering the amusement park. This has been known to help keep the sun down for its visitors.

Another family oriented activity would be taking a trip to Clearwater Aquarium to see Hope the the famous dolphin. The movie dolphin tale was filmed at Clearwater aquarium, not too far from Indian Shores. The newly redesigned aquarium offers lots of fun and exciting facts pertaining to marine life in Florida. Smugglers Cove Putt Putt golf course and alligator feeding makes for a great family evening. There are so many things to do in and around Indian Shores. It's also nice to just relax and refuel by the beautiful pool or the pure, white sands of the Gulf of Mexico.
